释新蔡葛陵楚简中的“”字

  要:新蔡葛陵楚简是上世纪末在河南省境内出土的一批重要的楚文字资料,自其面世以来即受到学术界的高度关注。本文重点讨论简文中被误释为“熊”的一个常见字形,认为应改释为“”,并详细分析了其形体演变的轨迹;“”字在新蔡简简文中有两种读法,一为“骊”,义为黑色,二与“熊”音近通用。

Title: An Interpretation of the Character “ying”() on the Bamboo Slips Discovered from Chu Tomb at Geling of Xincai

Abstract: The Chu bamboo slips at Geling of Xincai are very important historical written materials discovered in Henan province and have been paid great attention by the academia since the end of last century. This study mainly focuses on a ancient character “ying” () which was mistakenly interpreted as "xiong"(熊) for a time, and makes a detailed analysis on its evolution. “Ying” () has two interpretations in accordance with the content on bamboo slips: “li”(骊) meaning black and “xiong”(熊) which has similar pronunciation and identical usage with “ying”() .
